You’re pregnant with your second baby and you know what to expect for the next nine months. But you also have a toddler and parenting while pregnant is a whole new challenge. Here are five tips to help you survive when you’re pregnant with a toddler.

1. Encourage Independence

Most toddlers love to help with small chores that build their independence, like putting laundry in a basket, feeding a pet or even setting a table. And creating a childproof area for independent play can give you time to relax.

2. Nap When They Nap

You probably did this with your first baby and it’s even more important now to get some rest when your toddler is down for a nap.

3. Do Errands Online

Order groceries online for delivery instead of packing a toddler into the car to walk the aisles. And look for subscription plans for things like diapers that can be delivered right to your door.

4. Technology Can Help

It isn’t bad parenting to let your toddler occasionally watch a movie on a tablet or play a game on your phone to occupy them. It’s a smart way to make the most of your time.

5. Don't Feel Guilty

Stop beating yourself up about everything not being perfect. Your toddler doesn’t hold you to that standard, and neither should you. Give yourself credit for managing a young life while bringing another one into the world.
